Beautiful Vintage Centrepieces

Centrepieces are vital for a seated Wedding or any event where people enjoy a seated meal. You can choose to do the same centrepieces for every table, vary depending on a theme, or choose a mix of centrepieces to make a statement. All methods can be very effective and it really depends on the look that you are trying to achieve. Tin jugs as shown in the picture above make delightful centrepieces. An oasis can be used to minimise the amount of flowers required and to hold the flowers in place. If on a budget, these types of centrepieces are very easy to do. There are various YouTube videos that will talk you through flower arranging and you could go to a market, or wholesaler to get a better deal on flowers than going direct to a florist. Depending on season you could also pick your own. Cow Parsley grows wild and if in bloom makes a simple but very pretty table centrepiece . As an alternative to the jugs, you could collect jam jars or use vintage bottles to decorate tables. You could make these look more decorative by adding lace and pearls. I personally think they look beautiful plain with a mix of flowers in clusters on a table.

If going for an eclectic look you could choose a mix of jugs, vintage bottles, candleabras, birdcages and vintage props (typewriters, sewing machines). This can look extremely striking and will evoke some interesting conversation amongst your wedding party! You can 'pretty' these up, by adding decorative vintage books, music sheets and small vintage bottles with single stems. A pretty brown luggage tag with a romantic poem typed upon, will look great tied to a sewing machine or birdcage.

Whatever you choose, your centrepieces will help add to the atmosphere and look of your wedding. They don't have to cost the earth and you can add a little bit of personality through them, whilst looking aesthetically pleasing.
